Twitter in one corner, Threads in the other.
That’s right, Meta has just made Twitter’s dupe and people are flocking to it in the millions.
And let me tell you it was a brilliant piece of marketing that got us here. Let’s rewind time a little.
Why are people annoyed at Twitter?
Yes there is a list:
- Implementation of a limited number of tweets you can see per day (unless you pay). Yes Elon, we know that elongated social media usage is bad for you, but for goodness sake, please don’t take away our right to scroll!
- All meaning of Twitter Verified has gone, now that you can pay for it. It means that scammers impersonating others can just buy verification, and that’s annoyed a lot of people. It also just feels like an unnecessary money-making scheme.
- And errr, he hasn’t quite been the nicest to the staff there. Unsurprisingly, people do care about people.
Elon Musk’s recent announcements have left so many feeling even more disgruntled with the platform, and guess who just swooped in at the right time. Meta.
The double stab in the heart for Elon Musk, is the fact it’s trending massively on Twitter. I wonder how long it will be before Twitter bans anything related to Threads.

Meta’s new platform
Threads is so far a Twitter dupe. It’s very simplistic in it’s design and has all the basic Twitter features. And with all the things you can now do on Facebook and Instagram, the simplisticity is a welcome relief for many.
I for one, am enjoying the opportunity to explore content which hasn’t taken hours to create, to freely express myself into the abyss and to speak in a tone of voice which is slightly more fun than corporate speak, if you know what I mean. Now let’s talk about the real question…
What should you do as a health and wellness business/influencer using Threads for the first time?
As always, I try and make these articles as relatable and actionable as possible. So, what should you do?
- I’m a broken record, but please, work on building your personal brand and extend it to the new platform.
- Thread? Thread lots and lots. Throw spaghetti in all directions. Try long threads, short ones, ones with videos, ones with photos. Experiment as much as possible, and when you see something is working, do lots and lots of that.
- Comment on everyone who could be your potential client, especially if they don’t have many followers. People are ITCHING to get interaction, and visibility on this new platform, give them what they want by commenting and sharing their posts. The fastest way to turn those people into thankful followers is by giving them what they want from the platform.
- Don’t burnout
