What I learnt about launching a new dance class

You really need to give people a reason to leave their homes.

They are already home, it’s cosy, it’s comfortable, and perhaps they are more enticed by a home workout or a boogie in the kitchen.

So, when we decided to launch another evening for dance in (what I consider) the sleepy city of Norwich, I was worried:

My Fears

🔺 People aren’t going to want to come out to dance multiple times a week

🔺 People who are new to dancing/new to us might get confused with two nights on

The Solutions

⚪ We rebranded with clean and clear branding – Introducing ‘Agua Wednesdays’ and ‘Fuego Thursdays’

⚪ We presented the information through different mediums because people learn in different ways

  • through talking to people/word of mouth
  • through images with short text
  • through longer captions
  • via video

⚪ We provided more value than just a 1hr class. We made an evening of it. Now, it’s two performance teams you can join, a dance class and two hours of social dancing/socialising

We gave people a reason to leave their house, and we made sure all our marketing and branding was on point.
