Social media for business – It’s a lot of faff. It takes a lot of time. It’s a lot of effort.
Despite this, most marketing professionals will still urge you to be on at least 1 or 2 platforms. Here is why.
Your target customers are likely scrolling social media right this minute.
Why wouldn’t you want your business to casually pop up on their feeds, reminding them that you exist and have a pretty good offering. they may even purchase or inquire right then and there.
You can reach a wider audience.
Social media is made for sharing and exploring and because of this, your one post doesn’t just reach one person, it reaches a multitude of people and based on how well-optimised your post is, it can also reach an audience wider than what you would have reached without social media.
You can use social listening to understand what your customers actually want.
You get to see exactly what their pain points are, what their needs are and what sort of service they demand. Then, without ever directly speaking to them, you can produce the most perfect product/service that it would be a no-brainer for them to buy.
Deal with questions en masse.
Sometimes you find the same questions being asked over and over again. Save yourself time and your potential customers ‘agro’ by answering questions en masse through effective posts. Predicting their needs and answering their questions will help them move through the sales funnel much faster.
Define your brand.
Utilising strategic layouts and wording in your social media profiles can clear up any confusion about what you do and how you do it. Clear, consistent branding and layouts can help your customers immediately understand what you do, and therefore attract exactly the kind of people who would buy from you.
Show up in search results.
Whilst there is a place for your well-optimised website to show up in search, don’t let the rest of the results be your competitors. Optimised social media profiles show up top in Google search.
Now what?
You see? Useful! The first step is to make sure that your accounts are set up properly for success and that they are optimised.
